Re: Conference Hashtags

Thankfully, we'll be seeing less and less of the silly hash tag usage in general as twitter along with facebook continues to drop in popularity. (Remember myspace and aol? we're seeing the same thing happen with FB and Twitter)

VHS cassettes in meetinghouse libraries

If you haven't done so already, I'd suggest having your librarians go thru and start tossing out the old VHS cassettes. The material on the cassettes is no longer supported/used in any of the lesson manuals- everything needed will be on DVD or streamed. Free up some shelf space. FM Groups are no lon...

Re: No Sound in Overflow from the chapel

those optic sensors are a common issue. If you experience the problem again, report it to the FM Group. They'll likely need to replace the sensors, clean them, or have the hardware in the A/V cabinet gone over. We've had to replace a number of sensors in various buildings and replace hardware as well.

Re: Gossip from my friendly neighborhood FM guy

Those thermostats are only to be programmed and controlled by the FM Group or approved contractors/facilities maintenance service missionaries. members are not to have access and make adjustments. They will have basic "temporary occupied" and temporary temp adjustment access on those remot...

Re: Wireless Internet Providers

We ended up going back to our old provider- Rise Broadband. (Satellite dish type thing to antenna tower off in the distance) and all the issues we were having ceased. we had a bit of a battle with Hughes with them not wanting to live up to their guarantee and cancellation policy but in the end with ...

Re: Xerox 4265

Yes. You'll need to log in, username is likely admin and password I believe is 4444 or 1111 then you should be able to access some of the system menus and change the time out feature. let me know if you need more specific instructions.

Latency Happens... Satellite vs cable providers

Interesting article that I learned a lot from, and might explain some of the issues people are complaining about at my building that only has satellite available.

Re: Wireless Internet Providers/Satellite Internet

I haven't tried that yet, will add it to my to do list. Access to the sites is no longer an issue, however the issue we are seeing now is when the FHC is trying to download a large file such as a stored microfiche file from one of the paid sites the church uses, they are encountering issues where th...

Building Schedulers

Hello- I posted a topic awhile back in another section about having easy access to building schedulers for the members to access both on lds.org as well as the LDS Tools app. Giving it some more thought here is what I have to add: Finding the building schedulers for the buildings in the stake is not...

Re: Wireless Internet Providers

So far so good with 1 week on with hughes. There was indeed an issue with the firewall and the family history center was unable to access one of the main sites, but Hughes was able to disable something on their end and access to that site was restored. Been very cloudy this week so we are down to ab...
