I'll have to change this as soon as the Church changes their search screen, but it works for now. Thanks Mikerowaved for the idea. public class ScreenScraper { private static String LDS_SEARCH = "http://www.lds.org/units/find/search/1,16055,2311-1,00.html"; static public List<Account> findStakes(Str...

Stake and Ward API

I'm creating a website geared towards members of the Church that would allow registered users to optionally specify their Stake/Mission and Ward/Branch. Is there any sort of web service (REST/SOAP/XML/screen scraping) that I could use to let users pick their stake/mission and ward/branch? Trevor

Great reply Russell. You obviously have the upper hand here since you currently work in a FHC and I do not. You also seem to work in a considerably advanced FHC that's doing quite well. Most FHCs I've seen don't seem to operate that well. About the vandalization, I agree. What would stop someone fro...

Linux terminals

I was just reading about the Linux Terminal Server Project and I can't help but think it would be a pretty interesting way of implementing a local FHC for a really low cost. Here's the link http://www.ltsp.org/ But here's how it would work. You buy one large server. ($2000-$3000). A network switch. ...

Where is the API?

I was about to ask this question myself, but was able to find the answer...I think. So I figured, I'd save others some time by posting the link.

Stake employment and networking

I have been given the task of figuring out a way to help our Stake employment specialist manage all of the jobs searching info in the stake. He wants to create a database of people looking for a job in our stake along with all the stake members and where they work/what they do. He basically wants to...

Thanks, I look forward to seeing specs on the API. I know this is premature, but it might be good to start publishing specs on the APIs so the Church can get feedback on them.

TempleReady and IGI

Ohana Software uses some sort of technology to search the IGI to find names before submitting to the temple. As I understand it, TempleReady will be replaced by NFS soon after it goes live. Does anyone know if there will be an NFS API for third party tools or websites to do essentially what Ohana do...
