Can leadership upload member phones from the app?

Recently I noticed in the android app, if I click on somebody's picture I had a camera option at the top. This is not my picture, but a different ward members that did not have a picture uploaded. I assumed from this that I could then update/add a picture for this individual. I am in the Elders Pres...

New LDS Tools updates are not good for singles ward

Not sure when I got the new update. I'm in a mid-singles ward in Layton Utah. Some changes that were made seem to make it harder to find single individuals in the LDS tools app. Now the directory shows "families" first, you click on that and then can click on individuals to get their infor...

Re: Refund on Tithing

The tithing my mom over paid last year is more then enough to cover this year.

I have to think the church has a process in place. Not easy to do.

Refund on Tithing

I know it has been talked about on here before. Those seemed to be older so I wasn't sure if they apply. This is actually a personal question, I'm not a ward clerk anymore. We came to find out that my mom has been calculating her tithing wrong. It looks like with last year and this year she overpaid...

Re: Questions about Other Funds

I get that people gave their money for hygiene kits. As far as I know the church doesn't do hygiene kits from members? It more asking for more money from members when we have this left over -- but for a different purpose. I actually wish I could go to each member and see if they were will to put it ...

Re: Questions about Other Funds

2. Reading the help file did talk about trying to use the funds for the purpose, and if not give the money back to member. I don't see that really feasible at this point. In the comments it said this. from 2013 If there are excess funds in the “Other” category, and the funds do not have an identifie...

Re: Missionary Mobile Device

Bad idea. Missionary is tax deductible, mobile devices are not. You might recategorize some of the donations the family has made. That will change the tax status. How is missionary tax deductible? I have never given parents any tax form from the the church like tithing? I thought other funds were N...

Missionary Mobile Device

We just had a missionary come home. The finances person on her mission said she needs to pay for the mobile device. Because she has extra money in her Missionary fund, I was just going to transfer some over. Watching this video. https://www.lds.org/help/support/missionary-mobile-devices-in-mls?lang=...

Re: Did the Check Print Correctly? Kind Of

So as you found out, the best option is to complete the check printing process, void the faulty check, and reprocess the disbursement on another check.

So that is the best option?

Re: Did the Check Print Correctly? Kind Of

What you've done is fine except that you need to cut out the signature part of the voided checks (and file the remaining portion to show during the audit that it wasn't cashed). I did write void on the checks, but the church doesn't even know about the checks. Really they don't exist (the check num...
