Re: Question About Sitting with Family/congregation After Blessing/Passing the Sacrament

One visiting authority instructed our former stake presidency that the priesthood should be dismissed from their posts, but not thanked for their service, because it was their priesthood responsibility. Now that we have a new stake presidency, we no longer hear that counsel. I'm not sure an instruc...

Re: Media Library

Yeah, I also got a denial back in response to sending the form in. But the denial told me I had to specify exactly which images I wanted. I gave up and have just tried to come up with my own instead. But this makes me wonder what the developers have done that do include images, such as the Gospel A...

Re: Media Library

This really needs to be clarified. None of the images on the church site to my understanding are allowed to be used in application development. Some works are available to use under a form of general license that might not require an individual request. For example, much of the media on LDS.org is f...

Re: Watching LDS Conference on Xbox 360

There is now a BYU channel application you can download to your XBOX 360. I believe we used it last session to watch conference. The only down side is that when loading it up, you have to sit through a commercial before watching the stream. I wish for general conferences they removed the commercial ...

Additional Computer Setup Steps

One of the ward technology clerks is asking if he can modify additional security settings on the new PCs we have received, such as disabling AutoRun. I am the stake tech person, and I have not seen this question before. I had assumed all security was being centrally administrated now through Trivoli...

The Church sent this message for good reasons. I understand the reasons some scout units in the Church have done this, but it is basically deceptive. A Church unit is not the BSA. They are two entirely different legal entities. Banks have no business allowing BSA checks to be deposited in a Church ...

I'm not convinced there is such a thing as an LDS-approved popcorn fundraiser. If that "approval" is based on the documents I've seen, it's very shaky logic, based on assumptions that are grounded in old letters and interpretations of Church policies that have been superseded at least twice. Any fu...

BSA Popcorn Commission Checks

This is our second year participating in the LDS\BSA approved popcorn fundraiser. Last year the BSA Council cut us the check and wrote it out to our troop # and the clerk just stamped it and deposited it. Shortly thereafter we received a communication from SLC Finance not to receive checks written o...

Maybe your DSL is providing you with dynamic IP address which in turn breaks it nightly? Just a guess... VPNs are more stable with static addresses.
