Today in primary part of the activity to help kids understand the BofM message a childrens adaptation of the BofM was used to help kids grasp the meaning on the Atonement. The book is "Primary Scripture" a book of mormon for kids..
A question arose as whether it was acceptable to use a kids book of mormon in primary...the book was used alongside official standard works
What if any is the churches position on using helpful unofficial resources to teach gospel principles
Pintrest is a prime example where teachers go for resources to help teach

A companion question is what is the copyright on that work? If it says anything like "for home use", then using it at church is a violation of copyright. That is often the case with videos.

Is it a Church publication? If so, it is probably okay to use.

Handbook 2, 17.1.10, states "Church-approved curriculum materials are to be used in classes that are held during the Sunday meeting schedule." Counsel with your ward bishop for further guidance.
