email attachement or other ways to distribute electronic document to stk/ward members

Using the new Local Unit tools, is there a way to put attachments in emails, or otherwise distribute an electronic document to some or all stake/ward members?

Currently, with the LUWS system, it is possible to post an attachment on a stake or ward website news and information area, and then send an email broadcast to the selected group and manually include the URL to the news and information item. But with this system planned to be retired in the future, what options exist with the new tools?

I would think that some church sanctioned method would be better than forcing people to resort to other means like un-approved websites or private email systems.

The goal here is to electronically distribute things like public affairs news letters, or anything really--its should be much cheaper in the end than printing these things on paper.

We know very little about what is coming with the new site in terms of News and Information, except that we know that there will be a News and Information feature (see Ward and Stake Websites: Overview). I'm sure it will include options for attaching files. Until the current LUWS is retired, you can continue to do what you have been doing. There's no reason to be concerned that you'll have to "resort to other means like un-approved websites or private email systems."
Questions that can benefit the larger community should be asked in a public forum, not a private message.

Nope. Nothing has changed. Classic LUWS is still functioning. I'm surprised that the optional redirect for calendars and directories wasn't made mandatory.
