Hello,
The RUKO player has a HDMI connection on the back but the tv only has the coax cable or the red and yellow connections. Is there anyway possible connector that will connect the HDMI connector to the tv? Besides buying a new tv-Already thought of that one. lol. Please, enough information that I can go to Radio Shack and ask and they would not look at me like what!?

Thanks,
Micah

Look for a HDMI to Composite converter.

But I'd seriously look at two other options: 1) Find a older Roku that supports composite. 2) Buy a new TV.

I don't know as Radio Shack would have the converter - but you might find that older Roku there.

Found a Roku model that will work with the older TV and it's also their least expensive. And it will also work with the new TVs as well once the old one dies.

From their site:

That's fine for streaming, but I think a number of the Roku applications discussed here were set up for using a USB drive. That model doesn't seem to offer that feature. Only a few models had the USB port.

Those are the Roku 2 and 3. They were the ones with the USB port.

However, the Roku 1 does have a feature where you can beam a video from a tablet or smartphone to the TV through an app. That's the workaround for the Roku 1 they built into it. It's also on the rest of the box line and the streaming stick too.

The Roku HD-XR, Roku XDS, and Roku 2 XS had both composite and USB. The Roku 2 HD, Roku 2 XD, and Roku 2 XS have micro SD and composite. All discontinued models.

But there's a number of Roku 2 XS on ebay.
