LDSTech on Twitter

#1

Post by McDanielCA »

You can now receive updates from LDSTech by following us on Twitter.

Twitter is a free service that allows users to send and receive short updates.

We will be using Twitter to inform you about featured articles, opportunities to help with Church projects, hot topics in the LDSTech forum, and job positions.

Read Tom Johnson’s article about Twitter and LDS General Conference for more information about how members of the Church use Twitter to communicate.

I'm Twitter-naive, and am just passing along FYI this blog link about a reported security problem on the Church News Twitter account:

Hackers hijack the LDS Church News Twitter Account

Does anyone have any knowledgeable perspective on that incident?

The Deseret News LDS Line posted a similar article, so it's obvious that it occurred, but I personally have heard nothing new.
Have you read the Code of Conduct?

All I know is that their account was somehow hacked into. Not to worry though, the LDSTech account was not part of this incident.

This would be wonderful if the LDS Access didn't block twitter.

Perhaps. But almost all of the Twitter content is just duplication of the content available here at the LDSTech website. Doesn't seem necessary. And I don't know if I would want anyone twittering at a Church computer.

I'll have to try it at home as our firewall here at work blocks access to Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc, etc, etc.....

There are various syndicators out there as well, so there is no need to actually login to Twitter.
