I am in a Ward in the UK can any answer this question please.
Looking at the Unit budget allocation, I notice
TOTAL BUDGET ALLOWANCE
UNIT DEPOSIT
They have slightly different amounts. What do these two line items represent? In other words, why is there a difference?
Many thanks Michael

What percentage of your budget does your stake withhold for each budget category?

Look at your Quarterly Budget Allowance report in LCR.
Parent Unit Est. Percentage
This is the percentage of the amount for each category that your ward budget receives. The remainder stays with the stake budget.
Total budget allowance
This is the total budget allowance for the stake and ward budget combined.
Unit Deposit
This is the actual amount deposited into the ward budget after the stake percentage is deducted from the total budget allowance.

Re: Total Buget Allowance and Unit Deposit explain please
The Total Budget Allowance is the budget amount the church provides based on the unit's quarterly report numbers. The stake has the option to automatically reserve a percentage of the allowance for stake use. The percentage reserved is determined by the stake president. The Unit Deposit indicates the amount left to the ward after the stake's portion has been removed and is the amount added to the ward's budget (which shows up in the Budget Allowance category) for the quarter.

Re: Total Buget Allowance and Unit Deposit explain please
My ward moved to a different stake about April 1st. Our stake withholding percentages are dramatically different now than before the change. In my experience, many stake presidents are not even aware that they control those percentages. They only know about them if their stake clerk raises the topic in a stake presidency meeting.

Re: Total Buget Allowance and Unit Deposit explain please
Just thought I would add some background info. In the UK the stake have no control over the budget allocation, that is decided by the area office. The wards get 80% of the total budget allowance.
