Youth Online Donations

A father asked me today if his sons could make donations online. He figured that since he and his wife donate "jointly" online, their sons could do so as well.

I told him that his sons would need to login to their member account, and then register their own bank account. But it is unlikely that teens have their own checking accounts, so that would be a problem.

A youth must also be at least 13 years old to donate (as indicated in the donation FAQ).

It will work with either a checking or savings account, as long as it allows ACH.

Not sure of the ages of the teens, but at some point, it would seem wise to get them their own accounts as part of practicing money management in the debit card/electronic era.
