Thanks for the reassurance. I knew this forum is user-to-user, but I have had a blizzard of auxiliary questions posed to me about updates and changes to the the LCR and other web capabilities.

Given that Windows 7, our operating system, is ending its utility soon, I was just wondering.

We will persevere in our best capacities...

I'd check the build date on the machines in question. They may be due (or overdue) for replacement.

I also expect some guidance around the end of the year about replacing the machines just prior to Win 7's expiration date, like what we had for Win XP.

Any other success stories, or a best practice another Clerk has adopted they could share? I've reached out to our Stake Tech Clerk, and haven't heard back.

I imagine that tech issues like the one I have having with Sophos are pretty minor on the landscape of the Stake, especially if we have a range of computers that are only running Windows 7.

And while I have had very fruitful and productive conversations with the Church Tech Help folks in the past, I'm reluctant to call them. Needing to badger them for software help feels like the scope of being Clerk is becoming a part-time job. I'm already busy 10 to 20 hours a week managing records, move-ins, move-outs, access, contacts and emails (especially since our members can no longer access the choice to email the Ward from the directory with the update there). Adding another 4 or 5 hour responsibility to manage the software our our Ward machine just keeps being put on the back burner in order to allow focus on more present real-world service issues for membership.

And I wanted to follow up, that I followed my instinct to look for advice here, and think I *may* have found a solution.

In another thread, I saw a post that said Sophos was located, "as a separate download in the computer section of the Help Center."

So I went there, and found https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/hel ... e?lang=eng, clicked it.

After it finished downloading, it uninstalled the failing Sophos, and installed one that worked.
