Assigning Ministers to Out-of-Unit Members

Is there a way to assign ministers to an out-of-unit member? I see that we can make an out-of-unit member a minister in the system but it doesn't appear that we can assign ministers to an out-of-unit member. Is there something I'm missing?

Typically, the home ward would be responsible for ministering to those individuals.

However, that does leave a question for couple missionaries who are on assignment far from their homes.

Thanks for the response.

In this particular case we have a divorced brother who lives in our ward boundaries but has his membership record in a single adult ward. The Sundays he has his kids he attends our ward and when he doesn't have his kids he is attending the single adult ward. Our Elders Quorum President wanted to assign ministers to him since he lives in our ward boundaries.

It looks like unless the wards swap roles (you have the record and the singles ward has the out-of-unit record) that's not going to be possible - at least officially.
