This month’s Tech broadcast will feature a presentation on a beta version of search. Stewart Shelline, solutions manager, will demonstrate this prototype search experience and answer questions.

“Our current search has done an adequate job at helping people find things, but there were a number of areas in which we could improve,” Shelline said. “Through feedback and research, we discovered that people usually come to with a goal in mind. For example, they come to prepare a talk or lesson, answer a question, or complete a task.”

The new search offers a smarter search experience that is designed to meet the user’s goals. Among its new features are increased precision in locating specific content and clustering search results in categories familiar to Church members, such as scriptures, magazines, manuals, hymns, or General Conference.

Sounds interesting but come on guys(gals), it says "Topic: Satellite Broadcasts & Meetinghouse Audio" not Search. One presumes you pull up the last one as a template and change it. A little proofing would be good... :-)
# Matt Banaszewski 2013-02-26 08:30
I think given the fact that this post is about a broadcast for Search that the proofing is fine.

Looked again and noticed that Rachel did this on Fri. I know what it is like, Fridays is when I miss a thing or two awaiting the weekend. All is forgiven... Pete
# Rachel Brutsch 2013-02-27 08:22
Thanks for the catch there, Peter! I'll be more careful in the future, particularly on Fridays. :)

Still looking forward to the day when home and visiting teaching will be accessable on and reports of visits can be done via the web site as well. This will be a huge time saver for everyone!
# Chuck Bennett 2013-02-25 18:43
I appreciate what this will do for those of us that utilize

Thank you

Good going on new search coz the other one was almost worthless....I seldom found what I was looking for without wasting tons of time. Searching Word of Wisdom it gave results of wisdom, then "of" then everywhere word was found.

Thanks for the email but i want to ask about the time of the broadcast in East African time.
# Clyde R 2013-02-26 10:21
MST is UTC-7. It looks like East Africa would be UTC 0, or 8 hours "later". It appears that the broadcast would be at 7:00pm/1900 hours on March 1st, your local time. or could be helpful tools to verify world-wide time zone conversions.

# Gustavo Romero 2013-02-27 10:01

One very important use of my position as a STAKE WEBSITE ADMINISTRATOR was the ability (at the direction of the stake presidency) to send out broadcast emails to stake members as reminders, news worthy, etc. This is too much to add on to a Stake Clerk to do. This needs to be corrected.
