Some popular activities will be back at this year’s LDSTech Conference.

Birds of a Feather will again be part of the LDSTech Conference in 2015 and offer participants an opportunity to gather and to discuss common ideas, issues, undocumented features, and new approaches to solving problems and creating projects, all under the direction of a moderator or discussion leader.

The format is less formal than other sessions, so breakout groups can focus on areas of common interest such as Android, iOS, Windows 8 & 10 platforms, and meetinghouse technologies while networking within the group and learning from one another.

Register for “Birds of a Feather” from the LDSTech Conference schedule (3 p.m. local time) as you would any session topic. In the past, networking groups have been very successful and attendees have come away with much useful information.

The Idea Share portion of the conference gives participants a chance to share personal software and technology project ideas with Church employees. If you have a great technology idea for how the Church can accomplish its mission, this is your chance to showcase your efforts.

To participate, you’ll need to make arrangements before you come to the conference with organizers. To do so, download, print, and fill out a Release to Record form and email it to Jacy Thompson at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . You’ll be contacted to gather more information and be scheduled for a time slot to make a ten-minute presentation with five minutes for Q&A at the conclusion.

Last year’s Idea Share included software demos from many talented developers, some of whom were app and game developers who participated in the contest. It also included ideations for software solutions to facilitate ministering to members, apps to occupy and entertain children, and tools to organize, plan, and serve better. Prearrangements are needed to ensure you have a setting to present your idea most favorably.
