Re: Using a Comtek for sound when broadcasting Sacrament

Additional Info - - We found if we used the ComTek model PR-72b we were able to use it for sound. Plugging it into the USB-A adapter and choosing that as the microphone for the YouTube broadcast works perfectly. Here's the comtek we used - comtek.png And this is the setup. I took this pic in my kitc...

Re: Using a Comtek for sound when broadcasting Sacrament

Ok, so we have decided to use YouTube live to broadcast out sacrament meetings. It seems to have the best user experience and video that Google Meet, or Zoom. We figured out the right adapter to use - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IRVQ0F8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 a...

Re: Using a Comtek for sound when broadcasting Sacrament

I gave up on the Comtek receiver. I plan to try using a Lavalier mic tomorrow, which I have taped to the podium mic boom. My laptop has a 3.5mm TRRS jack, so I bought a "Headset Splitter, iNassen 3.5mm Audio + Mic Stereo Splitter CTIA Audio 4 Pole TRRS Splitter 3.5mm Male to 2 x 3.5mm Female J...

Using a Comtek for sound when broadcasting Sacrament

So we are trying to figure out the best and easiest way to broadcast sacrament services in each of our wards in the stake. I think we have narrowed it down to either Google Meets (we have been using it for Stake Pres Meetings) or to YouTube live. We have been able to use a Webcam connected to a lapt...

Google Meet Settings

I'm wondering if it would be possible to have the church admin account amended to allow Virtual Backgrounds ( so to eliminate any distractions) and to allow Private Address for calendar sharing. This has been a great tool for our meetings but these two settings will allow less distractions and allow...

Re: Broadcasting Sunday School

Well, we have tested using YouTube live and using the church Webcast system. The result was the YouTube live have the absolute best user experience. The picture was the very best and the sound was great. Using the church system the video had to buffer several times and the sound was a bit choppy. We...

Re: Broadcasting Sunday School

sbradshaw - when we used YouTube live the users were able to chat back and forth and ask questions. However, the teacher would have to have the laptop handy to see the chats. Using Hangouts Meet may be an option if it doesn't distract the teacher too much. The UI also seems a bit cluttered to me.

Re: Broadcasting Sunday School

Jeremy - Thanks for the reply. We need to have video & audio for the sunday school classes. This is going to me more important perhaps in the future based on what's happening right now.

Re: Broadcasting Sunday School

Thanks for the replies. We have tried a couple of ways to stream the classes and found that youtube live seems to give the best video quality. Do you know if anyone else has used that to stream classes?

Broadcasting Sunday School

We have a lot of older members in the ward and several shut ins and we are wanting to broadcast Sunday School Gospel Doctrine to them. Has anyone else been successful in doing that and what did you use to broadcast? Also, I know the handbook has said we shouldn't broadcast Sacrament Meetings from th...
