Re: Webcast end of life question.

Here is a tale of two stakes. I was in one stake for a number of years before moving to my current stake almost five years ago. I still know enough people in stake A that I talk to on a regular basis that I know very little has changed, even with covid. In stake A a new stake building was build abou...

Re: End of Webcasting in July 2022: Please transition to Zoom

@MikeRowaved - Congratulations, you are one of the few to read those documents, doing even better than congress. Years ago, a lobby firm working for a consumer advocacy group mailed a report to members of congress wrapped in shrink wrap, with something to the effect that when you remove this film yo...

Re: Webcast a satellite broadcast?

Sorry folks, must of been a longer day than I realized. I did mean that for the most part that the satellite system that the church employs in the United States and Canada is ending this year, and that the webcast service is ending in July of 2022.

Re: End of Webcasting in July 2022: Please transition to Zoom

Who has taken the time to read the End Users License Agreement (EULA) or the Terms of Service (ToS), say for YouTube or Facebook? I will not agree to YouTubes conditions for posting content that I create - as I would be agreeing to let any other YouTube user use my content any way they desire, and I...

Re: options for non-interactive Zoom meetings

Just an update. The church has made two Zoom accounts available per unit (branch, ward, other), and it does offer the webinar option enabled. Currently my branch is holding in-person meetings, with webinar for those not willing/able to attend in person. I sit in the back and set up the meeting, and ...

Re: Liahona Sign-in on Church TV

I had not paid enough attention to if I can see the Lehi network only when it has a password or not, yet my phone knows it is there, so I would have to force my phone to forget the network before trying to see if it is visible or not when a password is set. I can go in and reboot or blink the WAPs, ...

Re: Send a message TO a custom calling

As the Executive Secretary, Branch Clerk, and Elders Quorum Secretary, I have to send emails to different groups of people. If I have to blast an email to all congregation members, or the brethren of the EQ, I use the Send a Message feature of the church's website. If I want to send an email to the ...

Re: Meeting house lease Wi-Fi connection duration too short (for someone who goes in a daily basis to the building)

Just a couple idea: 1. Use the hotspot feature of your cell phone. You don't need anyone's permission, yet you need to make sure that your phone plan supports it, and doesn't add extra expenses (that you are not willing to pay, if there is one). Other things to consider is if it draws from a data po...

Re: Liahona Sign-in on Church TV

Ah, yes, Lehi, the hidden network. And with it being a hidden (well, ok, it does not broadcast it's SSID), you do not have a splash screen associated with it, that helps. Yet as you mentioned, a 90 day password. I hope the tools on https://tm.churchofjesuschrist.org have improved over the past 18 mo...

Re: Satellite dish removal

At home, as I type this, I am using a Comcast 1.2Gig connection, yet since my WAN and LAN switches can only do 1Gig, I can't hit above 960Mbps. If I use fast.com it doesn't see or report anything above 100Mbps. Go to speedtest.net and I get more realistic reports, such as 933Mbps down, and upload fa...
