Hardware option

I have used k9 in the past however the problem that I hear from people is that is slows down their computer. There is an Open Source Firewall/Web Filter system called Untangle. Untangle is easy to install just download, burn it to a CD and install it on a old computer. It has a userfriendly dashboar...

I think I prefer it this way.... does anyone disagree? If we counted "Not Reported" as "Not Visited" I think we would be potentially making incorrect assumptions for the Presidency. Brad O. I also would prefer it this way. Also what are you using to code the site in? any tool kits? I have been real...

I agree. What we could do is have a field that says Visited" and "Not Visited" and another one next to it that has the custom visit types. So if some one was to select "Visited" they could have some options as to what visit type they can select and if they select "Not Visited" they will be given ch...

What I meant was that the administrative dialog box for Visited and Not Visited would be mandatory and allow the user to enter whatever text they wanted for each (even in Spanish.) Can't we assume that all groups will at least need a "Visited" and "Not Visited" option? Brad O. I agree. What we coul...

[font="]Also you might want to make the VisitType not visible even to the local admin after disabling it, other wise they could end up with a mile long list of options. Just put a delete button and when they click "delete" it just disables the VisitType making it appear deleted.

Whenever a teacher reports, the system plugs the Visit-type ID into the "Results" database table. The VisitType ID in the VisitType table is joined with the VisitType ID in the Results table. If we allow the Visit Types to be modified/Deleted/Added in the "Visit-Types" table, what is going to happe...

Computers are great for things like ward lists, statistics, reports, etc., where they allow easier administration to free up people for more important things, but if they are creating more work instead of reducing it, I think low-tech methods are better. Even for announcements, calendaring, etc., i...

Another chalange with keeping the unit site up to date is the hasle of comunicating every thing through one Unit Web Site Specialist (UWSS). If we provided pages for each quorum, class, auxiliary, committee, or organization, then we could also have callings with in each for maintaining their page. F...

Unit Orginization Pages

One thing that would be a great addition to the Unit Web Sites would be to have organization (YM,YW, Primary, Elders, etc) pages. Allow presidencies of the various quorums and organizations to have there own page which could consist of a blog, and also allow events to be added by groups thus allowin...

That sounds a lot like a .NET Web Service. I think that is a good way to exchange data between one system and another (for example accessing information in church systems), but for some reason I'm not so sure it is a good idea for an application to be designed to function solely using this technolo...
