Re: Must select a room - for the Bowery??

Funny story: Years ago, my stake added a pavilion to one of our meetinghouses. I set it up as a separate location in the calendar system, so folks could just schedule the pavilion without scheduling the meetinghouse. Years later, after my release, someone deleted the meetinghouse, leaving the pavili...

Re: Where is the Youth Protection Training Report?

I just checked the report for my ward. It lists 54 members, who are all "Past Due" for this training. Some of these members I know for a fact do not ever use a computer, so this will be a challenge for us.

Re: Retention of Missionary Medical Forms etc.

When I was stake clerk, I waited until the missionary returned and reported to the stake president and the high council. Then I gave the entire packet to the missionary's parents.

Expense Request Form

I was just looking at the sample/suggested Expense Request Form available on LCR Finance. It has the usual Reimbursement and Advance check-boxes. This always annoys me when I am printing checks from Fast Offerings to pay a needy member's bills. We need a third check-box for that situation. I just ne...

Re: Reliable broadcasting for Stake Conference - how to

30-40 years ago, I enjoyed listening to General Conference in the chapel over a dial-in phone line. I probably paid more attention to the talks back then than I do now, watching in 4K in my living room. Maybe that's because I tend to nod off more quickly now...

Re: Upgrade PC from Win 7 to Win 10

Earlier this year, our son-in-law sold me his used laptop which he had purchased from his work. The IT department had freshly reinstalled the OEM-installed Win 7 OS onto it. Since all of my other PCs are running Win 10, I checked to see if there was still a way to upgrade the OS to Win 10 without p...

Re: Upgrade PC from Win 7 to Win 10

Yes, there is a difference between FamilySearch Support and Family History Center Support, but I believe you have to call the FamilySearch Support number and ask them to connect you to Family History Center Support. It's been several years, but that is what I had to do in the past. During the ten ye...

Re: Upgrade PC from Win 7 to Win 10

Very good point. When I was the STS and my wife was the FHC director, each time we received new computers from the FHC Support office, we were firmly told that they were replacements for the old computers, and were not to be used to increase the number of computers in the FHC. Older computers need t...

Have you discussed this with your Stake Technology Specialist?
Have you called Family History Center Support?
Have you recently received a FHC equipment inventory request from FHC Support?
