Re: Installation of new M70Q ThinkCentre computers for Ward Clerks.
After creating a new clerk password the system came up and started the downloads which took about 2 hours. After the completion and rebooting the system came up with 3 log-ins: 1. The unit login. 2. the dandc89 and 3. Other user. The dandc89 did not go away as talked about earlier. The new "oth...

Installation of new M70Q ThinkCentre computers for Ward Clerks.
Just received a shipment of replacement computers for the wards in my stake. They are the newer model M70q ThinkCentre models. First thing is the new models do not have a VGA adapter so none of them can be installed without a HDMI to VGA adapters. Beside the HDMI port they also have a DisplayPort co...

Re: Sharing our experience with Virtual Sacrament Meeting Broadcasts
As we progress into a new world of Sacrament meeting distribution I find our stake president and bishops are still confused on how exactly we are to get the meetings out to the homes. As I read down through our forums I discover a multitude of suggestions how best to accomplish these tasks. Unfortun...

Re: Problems with Williams Sound PPA T27 Transmitter
OK, here is the answer. Go to the williams sound web site and look at their antennas for the T27. A coaxial dipole antenna at 80" should give significant gain to the T27 transmitter. Here is their url: https://www.williamssound.com/accessories.

Re: Problems with Williams Sound PPA T27 Transmitter
I understand the specs on the transmitters and the tighter limits specified by the FCC. I assume these specs, 80mV/m @3m, would apply to the output design setting of the RF amplifier in the transmitter. So if I put a higher gain antenna on the transmitter and increase the ERP would I still be in spe...

Re: Problems with Williams Sound PPA T27 Transmitter
First, there is nothing wrong with the antenna. Both check out ok. I decided to move to another building in the stake and obtain another T27 transmitter for comparison....... Set up another test with equipment and RF Field Strength meter at 20' apart. Set the FS reading at 266 with no RF from any of...

Problems with Williams Sound PPA T27 Transmitter
We have had the Williams Sound model PPA T17 wireless listening device for over 15 years and recently received the newer T27 model. At our recent stake conference I received numerous complaints that the signal was breaking up, especially at a distance of around 120 feet. We never had any issue with ...

Re: Alternative to Webcasting using a bridge
We have decided not to use the bridge between the 2 buildings this stake conference and go with the Web Cast environment. The previous use from the last stake conference was not entirely satisfactory. That HDMI extender looks very promising and am anxious to try that out on our next conference. Of c...

Re: Alternative to Webcasting using a bridge
You are correct - I was not thinking! Those devices just use the cat5 or any other cable to handle their data flow and no IP layers are involved. At this point, as an STS, I think I will back away from this situation and let higher levels decide on what to do, perhaps even abandon the project. In th...

Re: Alternative to Webcasting using a bridge
Yes, thank you for your input. That was exactly my conclusion. Another option I may try, if I have the time, is 2 devices that allow HDMI to be streamed over cat6, one on each end. There are limitations on cat6 distance so that may be an issue. Total cat6 distance from the flat panels down to the se...
