If you have the information, you need to display it and be able to correct it. It adds a burden to an already limited development resource. Okay, that makes sense. If MLS had locked, non-editable fields, that might solve my problem. I find that surprising. I would expect that if it was a parent, bu...

What paper records are destroyed is determined by the need for the information. Perhaps you should counsel with your stake clerk to discuss the issues you have presented here regarding the need to preserve information. The Church is not directing you to destroy the documents you feel need to be ret...

At one time the information was recorded. They even recorded who was the proxy for temple work for the dead. But in a high-level review of chuch processes, it was dropped in a reduce & simplify move back in th 80s (iirc). It isn't critical information for the functioning of the Church. The cost...

Well, the reason I assume that replacement certificates are okay is because there are other threads in this forum which discuss how to generate replacement certificates. Though I agree the signature issue is a problem. That information is not maintained at CHQ. If you look at section 13.6.12 of Hand...

Well, maybe a replacement certificate is necessary when a member asks for one. Maybe the original was lost in a fire, or a theft, or a move. Firewall for non-members at Mormon.org

Let's say I'm a nonmember who's visiting Mormon.org. I decide I want to check what the Mormons are doing in my own city. I click on Visit Us . Next, below the words, " We welcome all to join us. ", I type "Seattle, WA", and click on the Submit Button Locate . The Find A Church sc...

Best paper stock for Ordinance Certificates?

MLS allows me to print various certificates (Child Blessing, Baptism and Confirmation, Priesthood Ordination) directly onto blank sheets. However, I don't want to print the certificates onto plain white printer/copier paper. I think that a certificate which is intended to last should be printed on h...

In my opinion, if MLS is not storing the names of the priesthood holders who perform baptisms & confirmations, then this is a deficiency in the system. If the information is important enough to be included on a printed certificate, then it should be important enough to store electronically. And ...

I reported this same problem to MLS in October. The custom reports work fine when a member's record is moved out of one ward and into a new ward, on the same date. But not when the dates differ. This was a particular problem for us because our ward was receiving records which had been sent to "...
