Re: Building Technology Suggestions for Advancing our Ward into 2000s
Our stake broadcasts our Stake Conferences to our building over internet. Since we are 28 minutes (instead of 30 or more) from the stake center we did not qualify for a satellite dish. All of our broadcasts are received using using internet. We still host the priesthood session in our building as we...

Building Technology Suggestions for Advancing our Ward into 2000s
Our Ward is wondering what technology other Ward units are using that may bring our own ward into the 2000's. We have some funds available in the bishopric fund and have been very frugal but we feel like we are falling behind technology wise. Currently we have: 1) the "crab" (used to audio...

Re: VOIP Monthly Charges - How to Setup Billing?
Just finished moving our phone service to VOIP through Comcast. In order to do this I needed the following approvals: 1) First the Stake Presidency had to agree. 2) The FM had to agree. 3) The church offices in Salt Lake had to agree to the new provider as they have national contracts and get billed...

VOIP Monthly Charges - How to Setup Billing?
Would like to test the usage of VOIP at one of the building in our stake that has continued failures of the POTS lines outside of the building. Our stake gave permission and it looks like the FM is fine as well but the VOIP carriers want to bill a credit card each month. I also learned that the chur...

Re: Meetinghouse Technology Policy on Printers
Our network printers are all hardwired and are on the isolated hardwired network. Our wifi users are isolated from our hardwired static ip devices by our design. If you configured the printer for access by your wifi group, theoretically, not likely, one could see what was being printed and this woul...

Re: Family History Class in buildings with no FHC
I would think that as a FHC consultant for your local ward you would be showing members how to access their information from their own PC. Therefore, showing them with your laptop in the class (connected to the wards WIFI network), and projected on a projection screen (large class) or on the widescr...

Re: Can't play MP4 videos
If you are in need of a really good player for the MP4s, we use the VLC player, it can play virtually all popular formats without using up a ton of resources.
