Seeking LDS-friendly Forums, Chat Rooms, Social Media, etc.

Hi Folks, I'm afraid that my daughter is developing some rather worldly attitudes and opinions on a few social topic, and suspect that this is largely influenced by "internet friends" she has met. I'm looking for alternate forums, chat rooms, etc. that I can encourage her to visit. Not necessarily L...

Church Publications in Mobi Format from a Private Individual -- Restrictions?

I fully support the church's decision to go with EPUB, and hope that someday the Amazon Kindle will support it also. However, in the meantime -- I am considering using Calibre to convert the church's EPUB ebooks avaliable on lds.org into mobi format, and making these files available for free downloa...

Thanks aebrown. Apologies for my ignorance. Not trying to say that pdf995 is better than anything else out there. I just was unaware of any others, and specifically did not know that CutePDF is standard / recommended for clerk computers. Just got excited to find ANY solution to a vexing problem and ...

I recently found a very useful commercial product which I think may be useful to sharicarnahan and other interested followers of this thread. Its called pdf995. You can google it. They have a free adware-supported version, and you can also buy a key at a very inexpensive price to eliminate the ads. ...

Seeking Single Large Ward Map PDF file

I am our ward's emergency preparedness chairperson. The church's LDS Maps website is assume, but --- its interactive, and only shows one screen at a time. I am seeking a single PDF file of our entire ward showing enough detail (ex. street names and family surname tags) that we can use it in emergenc...

It is alot, but not as many as you have indicated, because the projectors can be shared by classes which meet at disjoint times. For example, Gospel Doctrine and RS have separate time slots, and so could use the same projector. Likewise with Sunday School 12-13 and Deacons, Sunday School 14-15 and T...

Seeking Help re: self-taught webpage design

I have an 18-year old daughter who is trying to teach herself how to design / write web pages. She is more of an artistic type person than a geek type, and I suspect that working with actual html, css, javascript, etc. would quickly frustrate her. I know we cannot discuss commercial products here, b...

I welcome the opportunity to present an example of this idea, especially as I sense some resistance to it on the part of other readers of the thread. A clear, concrete example would be an excellent way to clarify the concept. I've been a little busy with other things the last few weeks, but thought ...

Sorry about that. If you check the complete post, I'm not trying to sell anything or get anybody to send me money or setup a business with me. Just brief comment about an idea that popped into my head. I'll try to be more careful in the future. Thx.

The point of using powerpoint (no pun intended) is: 1. while it takes some expertise to create one, it takes almost none to use one. about all you need to know is: Hit the space bar to advance to the next screen. 2. You need neither a whiteboard nor a blackboard (additional cost savings in new build...
