Tithing Settlement and Boundary Changes

Hello, I'm wondering if the information found here: https://www.lds.org/help/support/finances-during-changes?lang=eng is still relevant. The pages says it was last updated in March 2014. I have been told that now donation records will follow members when they move to another ward, which should remov...

Frustrations with store.lds.org

I don't have a specific question that I think can get answered here, just looking for a collective shoulder to cry on a little. . .our bishopric was recently reorganized and I ended up with my second favorite calling: assistant ward clerk. My first task was to print out labels for the new bishop to ...

Financial Audit Questions

Hello, I have a clerk calling once again (assistant ward clerk) and am trying to locate the financial audit questions, so I know what to watch out for. Are they available anywhere as a PDF document? I looked here: https://www.lds.org/help/support/record-keeping/finance/financial-audits?lang=eng but ...

Christmas on Sunday

Our ward leadership is getting ready to high-level calendar 2016 and I noticed that Christmas falls on a Sunday in 2016. I vaguely remember authorization for a shortened block the last time that happened, am I remembering correctly?

Stillborn Child

Way off topic, for you seasoned clerks. . .we have a family in the ward that lost a child several weeks into the pregnancy. They're planning a simple, family-only graveside at which the father plans to dedicate the grave. I assume this is appropriate. The handbook doesn't say one way or the other. A...

Melchizedek Priesthood Ordination Record

We got into an animated discussion about this form the other day, specifically about who interviews the candidate. By my reading of it, in the instructions at the top it references "interviewing priesthood leaders" (plural), and there are signature lines for both the bishop and the stake (...

budget category questions

We are trying to clean up our act for 2015. . . Somehow we have gotten and have actively used subcategories under Budget Allocations for Scouting Boy Scouts and Scouting Cub Scouts , see attached. budget_snip.jpg After researching and educating ourselves, we know this is a no no. But we also learned...

The perpetual "money left in other acct" question

Our girls did a silent auction fundraiser for girls camp. Then they went to girls camp. The auction raised more than they spent. I 'm just now noticing that we have a few hundred dollars sitting in that bucket. I read that that money is to be returned to the donors. Problem is we had many donors, wi...

Scout Camp on Sunday

What is Church policy on duration of scout camp? Some units I know are attending an "official" BSA camp from Saturday to Saturday, others are going Monday to Saturday. I've found some oblique references to not camping over the Sabbath but am looking for something more direct, if it exists....

Ward Building Representative

I have to get used to not saying PFR I guess.
Section 8.2.7 of HB1 talks about the ward building representative. It uses the pronoun "he." Does that mean that the ward building representative has to be a brother and can't be a sister?
