Re: Church internet connectivity woes (possible 881w issue)

Update Okay... I think i've fixed my problem, thanks to you all! I removed the routers from the clerks office wiring the clerks computers directly to the wall and setting them to static ips on the 881w. This seemed to fix the intermittent connectivity problems they were having. Then I ran about 150 ...

Re: Church internet connectivity woes (possible 881w issue)

Then in the clerks offices themselves I have simple netgear routers Routers behind the 881? That's not the best idea. I'd suggest you ask FM to get you a pair of switches and 1041s to replace that. That way everything is getting it's IP direct from the 881. I'm not sure what's wrong, but it sounds ...

Church internet connectivity woes (possible 881w issue)

Sorry this is long, but I'm at my wits end and could use another opinion or idea.... I have a newer building which is wired for cat 5 (just a meeting house, not a stake center) It has ATT DSL 10 down. The current set up is as follows. I have an 881w in the attic connected to the ATT DSL modem, and t...

Re: Showing presentation from chapel in cultural hall

I guess I could do this, I didn't think about that. thanks! However the video is in the middle of the meeting, so i'd have to switch from the camera input in the overflow, and somehow communicate with someone in the library/materials center to start and stop the video and switch the feed over.... Se...

Re: Showing presentation from chapel in cultural hall

I have a legacy building, and with stake conference this week the Stake Presidency wants to show a video on all three screens... (chapel and 2 in cultural hall) This is what I've surmised so far. 1. If the video source (laptop) is sitting at the pulpit, I can provide audio to the whole building but ...

Re: "Legacy" style building PA volume issues.

And it seems that, at least on our system, the volume adjustment at the podium will change the chapel speakers a little, but not anything farther back (overflow, cultural hall 1, cultural hall 2, stage, parking lot, etc.). That's not how I'd expect it to work. But then I don't think I've ever teste...

"Legacy" style building PA volume issues.

Not sure if this is the right section of the forum for this. I have a legacy stake center (last one ever built I believe, 2 years old) We have had several people (young and old) complain about not being able to hear the speakers on Sunday or in stake conferences. I havent noticed it exactly but I ha...

Re: Meeting House Internet Responsibilites (FM Group, STS)

By in large, it's up to the FM group. FM pays for the Internet. Your best chance is to have the Stake President talk to FM. But FM works on a budget and they may not have any money to upgrade until the next budget cycle (assuming they agree that an upgrade should be made). Now, one question I have ...
