I figured I'd update this with the latest information, just in case someone runs into a similar problem in the future. I contacted a company that specializes in the repair of these mixers and they indicated that they have seen this before, and it would cost ~$350 to repair -- assuming they actually ...

Another Videonics Question
Hi All, I just picked up a Videonics MX DV Pro mixer on eBay. Unfortunately when I fire it up, I just see red and green dots on the screen. This is true for both preview and video out. I've tried a factory reset, but even the internal demos just show the red / green dots - along with the occasional ...

If you are tech savvy enough, and have many to do (I ended up with 13) I would suggest using one computer as the master image and rolling it out that way. (being tech savvy enough means you know how sidgen stuff works, and know how to make the computer unique, etc...The Church uses management tools...

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. These are ward MLS computers, but I haven't even unboxed them yet so I don't know if they're Win 7 or XP. Overall, it sounds like it should be pretty straightforward - nothing too scary. I may fire up these machines at home to download all the patches and upda...

Help with new computers
I'm the HC over technology and my STS and I are still learning the ropes. We recently received some new computers and we're not sure what needs to be done to switch over. We're both very technically savvy, but I thought I'd throw this out to the general wisdom of the board to find out what the best ...

From the cases you mentioned this sounds characteristically like you are running into the limited available IP addresses issue. Not without access to the router interface. Each of the three Cisco router/firewalls the Church has in service have default setups. The current one, the Cisco 881W, has 9 ...

More Fun with WiFi -- Possible IP Address Issue?
As our stake has moved to using more of the on-line materials from LDS.org, I'm hearing more and more concerns about people that are unable to connect to the Internet. Last week I helped a teacher whose Mac was not receiving an IP address from the DHCP server. After restarting the wi-fi connection o...
