Re: Personal Video Conferencing Upgrade Coming August 1, 201
Hi again, I'm presiding at our stake conference in less than a month (6-7 September) and we've been planning on using PVC to webcast the Saturday evening and Sunday sessions as we have in previous years. We've had major stability issues with the webcast software and don't have access to a hardware e...

Looking forward to this upgrade! Do you know if the issue with dialling Australian numbers will be resolved with this update? The current version fails to connect to an Australian number.
Thanks,

Having served in two bishoprics and now a stake presidency, I would say that it is unusual to record those who actually take the sacrament, but can't cite a reason not to do it if it has been requested by the bishop. I think it would be inappropriate to record names for this purpose though, just as ...

In Australia we have "teleboot" devices installed with all the networking hardware so we can remotely power cycle the hardware as needed. It plugs into the phone line before the modem so it can intercept calls to the ADSL service number, and also plugs into a power board that supplies all the releva...

Music sounds like it's under water in PVC
This is a bit of a strange issue, but something that we are dealing with as we prepare to use PVC to extend our stake conference this weekend. When transmitting voices, the audio is just fine, but we've found that when we start transmitting music, such as for hymns and musical items, the audio becom...

I'm absolutely supportive of progress, but one of our biggest challenges "in the field" has been helping our older and less tech-confident members know how they can access basic features like the Calendar and Directory. One thing we did this year was to reduce our printed "Stake Calendar and Directo...

Has anyone tried to use the Chat 50 for high council meeting? I am wondering if it can handle that size of room/number of participants. My experience has been that the Chat 50 is insufficient in larger rooms such as a high council room. We're using the Chat 150 at the moment, which works well for a...

While lehrschallbrian may not be aware of any approvals sought by his stake president before they began using Facebook it is clear in Hanbook 2 , 21.1.22 , seventh paragraph under the Official Church Internet Resources section, that young single adult activities and organization may need special co...

In our case, we just used the existing AV carts in the building, replacing the old CRT TV. The standard our FM group are sending out look something like this . They're height adjustable, in a sense, so I've set them to be about a foot higher than a desk top. As I mentioned earlier, we got some prett...
