Re: Hotspot or Cell Phone Bandwidth for Streaming

You may want to check Webcast Network Health and Encoder Settings for how to assess the network and what you can get out of it. In my case, while we're webcasting from a phone, we've been doing it over the Church WiFi. We could do it over mobile data, but we're avoiding that unless there's a reason...

Hotspot or Cell Phone Bandwidth for Streaming

Our stake center has a poor ADSL connection (we're lucky to get 2 Mbps up). The FM group has talked to the cable company about bringing in service and they aren't excited about how much the cable company wants to charge to bring service to the building. I've seen some recommendations in this forum f...

Re: Cannot access main Church website...?

Please clarify for me: I'm confused as to whether deleting cookies worked and all problems are gone vs. deleting cookies helped temporarily but the problems are back. Clearing cookies often times helps; however we don't know how often the church updates pages. Maybe you clear your cache one day, th...

Re: Errors Saving Annotations

Now today I'm getting the "unable to save annotation" message again. It appears below the dialog where I'm typing my annotation. Then I refresh the page and another message pops up that says "annotation saved." I've never seen either of these messages until recently.

Re: Errors Saving Annotations

I wonder if some service had problems over the weekend and it got fixed when people got to work on Monday? I had some issues on Monday morning. Today I'm studying and adding notes and everything is working quite well.

Errors Saving Annotations

Since Friday (Sep 18) or Saturday (Sep 19), I've been receiving errors when saving annotations. It seems that the highlights and tags save, but any notes I type sometimes have difficulty saving and an error may pop up saying the annotation couldn't be saved. I seem to be able to get things to eventu...

Re: Emergency Contact Section

If I remember correctly, in Leader and Clerk Resources there's a place to see family members in other Church units, if they have membership records. From that, a bishop could contact the bishop of a family member's ward to get in contact with the family. (Am I remembering correctly?) I don't have L...

Re: Emergency Contact Section

I'm not sure what factors are driving gathering emergency contact information (age, health, natural disasters, just in case, etc.). Some organizations, such as doctors, employers, etc. often times ask for such information. With the church's emphasis on information privacy and protection, it feels li...

Re: Zoom or Church Webcast System for Stake Conference?

Thanks for pointing that out, dbaresrc. We just had our stake conference webcast yesterday and it worked really well. I was going to come back and post about Zoom. The church had originally recommended we use the Teradek. Well, the Teradek I got from the FM group had a firmware failure. I tried and ...

Re: Zoom or Church Webcast System for Stake Conference?

Thanks for the info. I'm checking to see what the presidency knows from the visiting authority (there is a change in the presidency). All I've heard so far is "September" and I don't even know a date.
