Re: EVI-D80 Camera Controller

I have just updated my camera controller software to make it compatible with the Sony BRC-300. It has now been tested on the EVI-D30, EVI-D70, EVI-D80, EVI-D90, EVI-D100, and BRC-300. If you want to look at it or download and use it go to http://www.rnl3c.com/ptzc . Comments or questions are always ...

Re: EVI-D80 Camera Controller

I just checked the codes for the BRC-300 camera control. The program should be compatible with that camera. There may be some features on the BRC-300 that the program doesn't access, but most features are accessed. If you find out that there are some problems we should be able to update the software...

Re: EVI-D80 Camera Controller

A gamepad works on a PC is what you want. Mine is USB connected and has a X/D switch. I think I set it D (DirectInput).

Re: EVI-D80 Camera Controller

Yes, I could do that.
If your joystick twists, that is already set for zoom.

Re: EVI-D80 Camera Controller

I just updated the camera controller software to work with Windows 8 and later, for joystick/gamepad input to control the camera.

Re: EVI-D80 Camera Controller

If you don't want to pay the $99 for controller, check out http://www.rnl3c.com/ptzc . It does all that and more (exposure and color control), and I'm not charging for it. Also, I recommend RS-422 for longer control wire runs. A USB to RS-422 converter is about the same cost as USB to RS-232, and yo...

Re: EVI-D80 Camera Controller

The control commands for the BRC-Z700 and EVI-HD1 cameras are the same as the commands for the EVI-D80 (30/70/90) cameras. The software described here: http://rnl3c.com/ptzc/ can control those cameras. I have just recently added joystick/gamepad capability so you can control your cameras using a joy...

Re: EVI-D80 Camera Controller

Since my last post I have continued to make improvements to the software and we used it at our Stake Conference. It worked adequately, but I didn't like the effort needed to control the PTZ and rates at the same time. Therefore, I added joystick/gamepad integration and I really like it now. It's sti...

Re: EVI-D80 Camera Controller

I have been continuing to work on the camera controller based on feedback from a couple of people. Now that I have 2 cameras I am able to test the multi camera capabilities and that work well after a few tweaks. I have added support for auto/manual exposure, auto/manual focus, EVI-D30, and a few oth...

Re: EVI-D80 Camera Controller

We are getting ready to mount our EVI-D70 camera, and I decided to write control software for it. It has basic functionality including pan, tilt, zoom, rates of pan/tilt/zoom, on/off, and presets. If anyone would like to try it before spending almost a $1,000 on a controller, or even $100 on a softw...
