Re: Sync policy
Interesting, thank you. I didn't consider the calendar application to be a "meetinghouse technology", but I do see that 4.9.3-4.9.4 do directly address "any membership related data" in "cloud-based services". Though, to me, this actually seems more broad, not narrow, bu...

Re: Sync policy
The sync function is an explicit part of the calendar application and has been since the start. Things like that don't get added just because a developer feels like it. They are approved by the appropriate general authorities and probably also by the church's legal department. If it violated the po...

Sync policy
What is the policy in storing a copy of the calendar in a Google calendar? Is there an official word on this? I know it is possible, but as we all know, just because a Church employee did something, does not automatically make it the mind and will of the Lord... : ) The closest thing I have found to...

Re: Topic Reply Notifications
Well, when you put it that way, it does sound like 'complaining'... but yes. That is exactly what I was trying to say. Was just trying to help. The engineer's job is to make the thing work, the PM's job is to make sure the scope description matches the function. I think like a PM. I use the forum an...

Define works. If there were 20 posts made after this one, would you want your link to show you this one first, or the 20th post after this one first?

Topic Reply Notifications
The Topic Reply Notification emails claim that the '&view=unread#unread' link sends you to the "newest post made since your last visit", when in fact it sends me to the *oldest* post made since my last visit. In my opinion, newest wouldn't be especially helpful, as that would always le...

Re: New Gospel Library
Didn't want to hijack, but the feedback link isn't at the bottom of the scriptures subdomain anymore. I might suggest adding that back. I don't really have a suggestion on where to put it... maybe as a link at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left side? I prefer scroll not being synced to no...

Independent scrolling panes
So far I like the new interface. The first that has bothered me has to do with scroll. Not to have footnotes scroll with the text, like the mobile app does (I would prefer that not happen on desktop view, I very much prefer the independent scroll, but I could see others preferring the scroll synced)...

Re: "Other" Category
That is right! Good catch! If it is already looking up individual accounts by unit number, then the database is already in place, the quality and infosec requirements are already in place, and we are back to 'which is easier for the clerk: allocating it before or after deposit, through handwriting o...
