Re: How many receiving sites can we have?

Schedule 2 or 3 events at the same time, so you have 3 stream servers. The lowest authority for the webcast is the stake president. I have doubts that the system allows the stake to schedule more than one event at the same time. The system allows it, and I've used it to provide redundancy when an a...

Re: How many receiving sites can we have?

I'm a bit concerned about the assertion that setting the "large event" option will support 200 viewing sessions. The scale is likely not limited by a license, but by network bandwidth. Part of the bandwidth equation is the virtual host NIC provisioned in the Azure cloud (normal vs. large e...

Re: New Clerk PC - Finance Functionality Temporarily Unavailable

I did the same minus deleting the local MLS data, and after about 4 send / receive cycles the older records were back. I guess the lesson learned is that a) the upgrade process needs some shoring up, b) you want to take time off work and upgrade during a weekday else you'll have no MLS support and c...

Re: New Clerk PC - Finance Functionality Temporarily Unavailable

I upgraded 5 ward computers this week. I thought we were all set as send / receive worked after resetting the security token. Then on Sunday, all of the units were getting the same message posted here when trying to access financial functions. Is this a gap in the documented upgrade procedures for t...

Re: Need help redoing AV closet

No video lag in our setup. We're using the PTZ Optucs 20XSDI, and are picking the video from the SDI output, so aren't subject to encoding latencies. Like you, I didnt consider the D80 a significant upgrade. i have 2 projectors in the Gymn in perfect sync with the building audio. I'm using blackmagi...

Re: Need help redoing AV closet

I was careful to make it simple and created (but am still improving) detailed documentation. The documentation is key. If i get hit by a bus tomorrow, they will still may have to learn about SDI, but thats well within reason I believe.

Re: Need help redoing AV closet

The total cost was above $6K. Whether that's a lot or not depends on how important it is to have your congregation focused on the message, and how easily distracted they are by poor video and poor audio. There are interesting dynamics around that depending on how wealthy your congregation is; the hi...

Re: Getting Ethernet to pulpit for receiving broadcast

Our stake conference this weekend was a success. The site using the MoCA Ethernet over cable adapter ran flawlessly. As for the splitters, you just need to make sure that they don't attenuate frequencies below 1500 MHz. This solution is somewhat limited; it worked for me in this case because it was ...

Re: Getting Ethernet to pulpit for receiving broadcast

1) Time; I'm a brand new STS, and our stake conference is this week. I didn't want to run a 50ft Ethernet cable and tape it down. This approach is much easier on my back and the FM group. 2) Simplicity; seems a much better use of resources to spend $22 on these devices than to have someone spend a c...
