there are some fill-in options available now. They are not, however, free. One is Margins and I don't remember the other. They both give you access to the library but don't sync with your LDS Account for bookmarking a notes. They also no not give access to the ward directories. Both are $3.99. I pre...

How could you draw that conclusion, after reading (in this very thread) this post and this post ? I know that there have been no official announcements of product release dates, but I would draw the opposite conclusion. Certainly it's the case that products are not being released as fast as some pe...

Is there any place for a survey or voting tool? I wonder whether it would help if the Church could see that thousands (maybe tens of thousands) of members use Windows phones already. And no doubt the Win RT platform will become the staggering force in the Desktop/Tablet scene in 6 months or less. Y...

I wouldn't be expecting applications for Windows 8. The church has focused on creating mobile apps for several mobile OSes. I would think the church would have a Win8 RT mobile app before there are any specific apps for Windows 8. For laptop/desktop users, regardless of the operating system, the so...

EnghCH wrote:I dug up an old copy of the WP7 LDS Tools App from when I helped work on it. I thought I'd try to port it over to Windows 8 (WinRT). I have a Surface tablet and my laptop is running Windows 8. I just thought I'd throw that out there.

Sounds good... let me know how it goes.

I think the difference between android and windows is the church barely had an app presence and no one was really sure what would happen with android.

Either way, you are right that patience is the name of this game :)

Just to add to my previous comments, READ THE FOLLOWING: PRE-sales for Windows 8 have been FORTY PERCENT higher than pre-sales for Windows 7. Windows 8 had already brought in a little under 800 MILLION in pre-sales nearly a week before the actual release! ( http://appleinsider.com/articles/12/10/19...

it'll happen

Just give it time. Like you I was an early adopter to Win8 but like many other new operating systems it will take some time. An LDS app for Windows 8 is inevitable as Microsoft's market penetration is typically quite deep. I do feel that twinge of impatience creeping up but it has only been a couple...

Probably so but devs should have access to the tools necessary to build and test their apps... Would really love to have this app within a few weeks of getting my Surface. :)
