Went to the website above and clicked on one of the video choices. The video doesn't show up with either of the 2 browsers (Firefox, Safari) I tried on my iMac (Mac Os 10.4). And when I downloaded the video, it would not play on my default player (Quicktime). I haven't tried using a different playe...

OK, I just fixed some broken references that were preventing the confirmation and thank you pages from showing up during the sign-up process. I think everything is working now.

Brad, thanks for the feedback! It's been a lot of work. Nice to get some positive reinforcement.

The Facebook Missionary Challenge

Hey folks, I'm launching a new program called The Facebook Missionary Challenge. It's fully functional, but still in beta, and not heavily promoted yet. So I'm hoping to get feedback and fine tune before a wider launch. Here's how it works. I've produced a series of explanatory videos called Mormons...

The Church is a non-profit, tax exempt organization. To avoid placing that at risk, the Code of Conduct and the Terms of Use incorporate rules to protect that status. Anyone registering to use these forums agrees to abide by those standards. You may want to review those standards since your questio...

Along the lines of mkmurray's comments. We're OK with the site as-is, even with some advertising. But if it becomes a commercial $ite, then the welcome mat starts getting rolled up. If you want to explore the gray areas, I'd suggest PMing Tomw to discuss it. Perhaps someone could explain to me why ...

We're not the only ones impressed. Gordon Clarke from the Family History Department forwarded the link to the developer's list. Yes, Gordon Clarke asked me to make this video, and helped craft the approach and script. :-) This was kind of a trial run to see whether this genre of video can be effect...

Soon, this video should be embedded on several Family History blogs, sites, etc. So that will make it easier to share without having to send people to YouTube.

Larry, I won't be posting this particular video to MormonsMadeSimple, because I'd like to keep that site focused exclusively on videos that help people understand the Mormon faith. While family history is an important part of our beliefs, in this video I did not address any of the reasons why (e.g. ...

FamilySearch - made simple

For anyone that interested, I just completed making an explanatory video for FamilySearch. It's posted here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_cfGoOaXR8 FamilySearch was looking for a video they could use to reach out to the younger generation and get them interested in doing family history work. I t...
