Re: Sophos blocking access to lds.org again
Unfortunately your best bet is probably going to be calling in to Local Unit Support. Sophos has been giving a lot of people issues for the last six months or so, and the fix ranges from the simple things you've tried to ultimately re-installing it. Hopefully they can get it taken care of without to...

Re: Firewall Filtering Not Working
This is an issue we heard about late last week. It looks like most of the churches websense servers are saturated so they are going to be adding a few more servers this week. Your building definitely isn't alone in being affected. If your building still isn't filtering at the end of this week, I wou...

Re: How do we request to decrease the lease time?
Both of the previous answers are correct, just to elaborate though. I am assuming you have an 881w. If the firewall was activated in the past 6 months or so, then by default it will have a 30 minute lease time. If the firewall was activated previous to that by default it is two hours. Like mentioned...

Re: Clearwire, et al
As an FYI, we have a building that uses HughesNet. It hasn't been the most reliable. Clerks seem to be able to transmit when they need, but the FHC is pretty slow. Yeah, I'm right with John on this one. We have a number of buildings with HughesNet or Digis, but if any other option is available (inc...

Update:
I just spoke with a ward in California who is currently using Clear Wireless for internet. It's the only building I've ever seen using that provider, but it is possible!

Re: Clearwire, et al
While the FM is responsible for getting internet into the building, for the sake of information and understanding I'll post this. I think Clearwire may be a little tricky unless they have a device with ethernet handoff. I'm only familiar with their wifi devices. I have yet to see Clearwire used in a...

Re: replacement for Cisco ASA 5505
Yeah, John sounds like he's right on the money, and I'm sorry to hear he ran into trouble when the firewall got changed over. Seems like forgetting the printers is a common issue. You basically have two options. The first is you can get external power injectors that will work with the 1200's, which ...

Re: Cisco 881 W lead time and other
Although the interface on the 881w firewalls indicates PoE on ports 0 and 1, and even has a port for a power adapter labeled PoE, I am fairly certain the PoE does not work. From what we understand from asking the engineers, the church has opted for a model that doesn't actually support the PoE to sa...

Re: Aironet 1200 still viable option for buildings?
We have moved up to the 881W's so that is a nice improvement, though I'm running in a mixed mode that I'm not real confident that the GSD can support very well. I hear that, it's a little tough for us depending on the issue when we're working in a mixed mode. The hardest thing for us to deal with i...

Re: Aironet 1200 still viable option for buildings?
They have firmware 12.3(8)JA2 So just looking quickly in the lab, one of the one's we're working on is on 12.3(2)JA2, so not far off. I would definitely think it's worth giving a try. You were able to get into the web interface it sounds like? The web interface is the easy way, so we can just uploa...
