Projector mounting policy

Is the Church still dead set against permanently mounting a projector? Short of building a special device, our Stake Center requires me to haul a table to the stand, then put a podium on it, then put the projector on the podium. Not a hugely big deal, but rather annoying when YW want to show a 3 min...

Having difficulties with new IP range and wireless router

Hi! I am the local Stake Tech Geek. During the recent IP range upgrade, our FHC was given separate address ranges for static and dynamic. Our scenario looks like this: Gateway: 10.181.61.1 Netmask: 255.255.255.0 Static range: 10.181.61.2 - .16 Dynamic range: 10.181.61.17 - 254 I haven't been able to...

Use facilities tracker for technical issues

Hi! I am the Tech Geek for the Seattle Stake. I am attempting to improve communications between my 'customers' and myself. I believe that the ap for reporting Facilities issues could be used for technical issues. The software is practically perfect right out of the box. I might wish to add some inpu...

Clearwire, et al

I am the Stake Tech Geek. One of my buildings is a bit in the hinterlands. Cable and DSL are not available.

Is there a way to connect via some wireless internet provider such as Clearwire? If we fed an 881W, we would be as protected as a hardwire solution.

Thanks!

local tech blog

I am the tech geek for my stake. I have been considering a blog to allow better communication between myself and the users in my stake. In a recent conversation with the previous techie, he said that the church did not allow such things. Is this true? Is there a better option? Could the Facilities I...
