Blogging tools like Wordpress loaded locally

You can load Wordpress locally. I am assuming this is personal stuff that you do not necessarily want to share with the world. The nice thing about it is the export to RSS feed if you ever want to move the entries from one system to another or make some of them public.

I want to share this Saas site called Dipity. Dipty is able to ingests the RSS feed for LDS Newsroom and thus automatically builds an ongoing historical timeline of Church News events. Yes Nathan/Cassie you are so right. This is certainly a worthy effort to accomplish "doing more with less". Software maintenance costs are much higher than expected. Not many developers want to devote their lives to maintaining an old legacy system. For one thing it does not look that good...

You find a variety of experiences

There is always more than one way to skin a cat. I think you will find that it varies. I personally came through an external recruiter. The reason for me was that is the avenue I have been using over the past 15 years as a contract developer. So I would say use what will work for you.
