I haven't set up an LDSaccount recently, so this may be a new bug. However, I'd first suggest you check the security settings of your email client. It may be removing the link. Take a close look at the amount of RAM that the PC's in the Church have. Anything below 512MB is going to slow things down considerably. I would recommend 1 GB or more.
