Re: Ordinance Certificates
The new certificates are generated in a PDF, if you open it in acrobat or adobe reader you can set the paper size in the dialog box and it will auto shrink it for you. The browser print dialogs tend to be flaky so I make sure our wards set to open in adobe reader by default.

Re: Missing Donation Information
Here are some scenarios (since we don't have all the details): 1. If it was a traditional envelope donation to the Bishopric, then it could have easily been submitted under the wrong name (my ward has many people with the same name, so it can be confusing sometimes). If you think that is the case co...

Re: Upgrade Administrative Computers from Windows 10 - 1511?
Any tips or suggestions in this post are for Windows 10 computers, if you have a Windows 7 computer in your clerks office do not attempt anything listed here (there was a period last year during the microsoft free windows 10 upgrade window that the church sent through an upgrade that Stakes had the ...

Re: Upgrade Administrative Computers from Windows 10 - 1511?
I had several conversations with Church tech support over updating the 1511 version (the one that installed through bigfix last year). Basically they will give you instructions on how to restore to a "clean state" which most don't need to do unless the computer install gets really messed u...

Re: Xerox Phaser 3320 - junk
The Xerox printers I've seen in the Wards have generally been hard to work with. I know the church has a contract with Xerox, more for the copiers than the printers (don't get me started on copier issues), but the desktop printers are just not good. My first suggestion if you are stuck with one of t...

Re: Airprint
The access points can sometimes "bug out" on the airprint packets. The quickest way to recover is to reset the access points in the building (sometimes using technology manager to disable/enable will work as well). The church technology people have stated they do not officially support Air...

Re: Ward callings draft planner
Several Wards in my stake create a magnetic label for each member (adults only) and put the callings on the white board usually found in the Bishop's office. They can then move people around freely. I know some Mission Presidents do something similar when making assignments (mine did at least). They...

Re: Sophos not updated since January 2017
A Windows 10 sophos fix was pushed by the tech plugin in early march (requires the sophos password to run) so I'll see if that fixes anything this week (have to call in to get the password first). Guessing someone saw a few problems happening with Windows 10 and pushed something out, unfortunately y...

Re: Sophos not updated since January 2017
http://ldssr4d.ldschurch.org/..... I checked the logs and it appears every time it checks (whether a forced through the shield icon or the login update) it sends a skip downloading message for each product. Basically the update tool is going through the motions only and not actually pulling anything...

Re: Sophos not updated since January 2017
The version is 10.6 and they are updated computers from windows 7 to 10. The download reinstalls it but does not fix the update issue (the reinstall acts more like a repair than a full uninstall reinstall). 10.6 is not the most recent version of sophos, 10.7 is the current version listed on the soph...
