Re: Ward Area Book

I went back through the previous posts in this forum and could not find any links to the Presiding Bishopric's training nor any previous mention of it. I also saw the feedback from the Risk department, but again, it does not appear that anyone has made mention of the training which I posted about. ...

Re: Ward Area Book

dfchamplain, Welcome to the forum. This topic has been covered ad nauseum. Please read through this forum for a thorough discussion and links to the current posted policy regarding ward and stake directory info as well as a discussion of feedback from the Risk department regarding this app (I can't ...

Re: Ward Area Book

Security of data has been the number one concern, both in building it and as a topic in this forum. There are several layers of security built in to make sure that data is secure: First, all interactions with the site are done over SSL. Second, each area book administrator has to approve any user be...

Re: Ward Area Book

Glad you liked the updates, I look forward to getting more feedback. Our missionaries already utilize the app but they got permission from their President so maybe just ask them to do the same. I would definitely be open to having collaborators on the github project who are rails skilled and would l...

Re: Ward Area Book

Ok, sorry for the delay on this one, it's been a long week. I looked into the issue with deleting wards and found the culprit, that bug has been fixed, thanks for bringing it to my attention. I have also removed admin email addresses from the area book list and instead there is a "Contact Admin...

Re: Ward Area Book

That's a good suggestion, I did it really to make it easier to confirm whether or not the ward area book you were requesting access to was the correct one. I guess I could create a "Contact Admin" button and set up a form to send the administrator an email from ldsareabook.org with the use...

Re: Ward Area Book

Okay this issue is resolved and working properly, please let me know if you are still experiencing issues. Just a couple of thoughts though: 1. You can use the "Help" link from within the app, those resources are pretty exhaustive on the current features, so if you ever get stumped feel fr...

Re: Ward Area Book

Also you can archive a family by clicking on their name in the ward list (or anywhere else for that matter) and use the yellow "Archive Family" button. You will need to go to the archive and select the family to then have the option to permanently delete though.

Re: Ward Area Book

Strange, was working last week without a problem. I am able to generate the error and will address it tonight. Would you mind telling me the source of your csv and whether or not you made any specific alterations to headers or anything like that?

Re: Ward Area Book

Unkown4now (how mysterious), I'm glad you have found it and hope it helps your ward council like it has mine. After you create a new area book, you can press the green button at the bottom of the Ward List in order to import a CSV. Obviously, the first time you import there will be a lot of families...
