Re: LDS Tools Missing from Windows 10 Store

Old discussion but still relevant... Glad I believe in the resurrection ;) As a regular plain old member, I really never used the LDS tools app. The need to look up other members of the ward just doesn't come up very often when you don't have a leadership or missionary calling. Well, I just got a le...

Re: Latest update appears to be missing features

Thanks, the 141 update appears to have resolved the icon issue. As for the highlighting, I guess that chapter headings aren't able to be highlighted...

Latest update appears to be missing features

Looks like I was recently updated to 2.15.11.140 on both my Surface and my Lumia phone. This version appears to be missing the highlighting functions on the radial dial. I have read on the UserVoice page that the radial dial is going to be deprecated but I'm unable to find the highlighting functions...

jkentner wrote:@ jaycenornin, just what we didn't want to hear! Thanks for posting that though.

I'm confused... to me it's good news, there's a project we can contribute to now! And an explanation for what's going on with the other apps we've been asking about. I thought we all just got what we were asking for.

Re: Any efforts for Windows 8 applications?

For all of those who are following this thread, there is an LDS Music project for Win8 now available for everyone to support. I've been digging through the Google groups posts for that project and I lifted this quotation which answers a lot of questions that we all have: :name removed for privacy: O...

Re: Why are Windows projects closed source? Official respons

So far, no, no official response. Unless somebody said something at LDS Tech conference (I missed it). No love for Windows users :( :EDIT: I should append this - apparently there's an LDS Music for W8/WP project now listed. The status was set to Public on Oct 9, according to the announcement on the ...

Re: Why are Windows projects closed source? Official respons

I mean, there are published apps that need help, and there's a platform that is growing very, very quickly. Windows Phone is already the #2 smartphone OS in all of Latin America. I'm not sure where your statistics come from, but according to the latest Garner figures , Microsoft is only up to 3.3% ...

Re: Any efforts for Windows 8 applications?

Sooooo many bugs, no updates, no magazines beyond may 2013. Pretty awful navigation. What is going on? Give me the source code, I will fix it faster than this! Word. I'd write my own app, but apparently the church isn't giving out access to their database API right now either. And I'm not keen on t...

Why are Windows projects closed source? Official response?

There has been a lot of wondering and questioning about the Windows 8 and Windows Phone Gospel Library and LDS Tools apps. Things definitely calmed down a bit after the release of the Windows 8 app. The trouble is that all of these apps are released in a quasi-beta state and aren't getting any updat...
