ldsjobs.org - frustrations

The ldsjobs.org site is in beta but there is nowhere that I can find on that site to email anybody about bugs -- how incredibly frustrating. If you want my ideas to improve your site, you really gotta give me a way to easily submit issues. (That is a huge issue.) I tried to post a job as an employer...

Broadcast emails are wonderful and terrible

My ward has been using the calendar, the news and information, and the directory features with great ease for almost a year now. In the coming year, we'll be using the resource calendar with another ward as our primary tool for coordinating building use. It was a rocky transition, and we are still ...

beware 48 hr time out

I'm our wards website administrator and several members are having trouble accessing the site. It appears they registered before LDS Accounts were established and they have not migrated over yet from the old to the new. I can see their login names as described above but how do they reset or get a r...

Email list management!

I would say 2010 is definitely a possibility (for at least two new LUWS features, if not the entire LUWS). It appears the Church has made a ton of progress over the last year or so with infrastructure changes to accommodate the new directions for LUWS, CDOL, Maps, MLS, etc. The absolute most frustr...

Ward Use of LUWS

I often see excited, new ward-website administrators asking for tips on how to get people to use the LUWS. The reality is that the LUWS are not very usable in its current state, which is the state it has been in for about 7 years. Please, turn back now! Save your effort, ask for another calling, mov...

Adding a picture has always been under the control of a web administrator. I suppose this is to ensure control of what would end up on the web site. The size of the picture and the related issues of resolution have been discussed and recommendations made in the Next Revision Unit Web Sites Wish Lis...

at least you've got access to ward & stake websites! welcome to Europe… aka the dark ages ;) All I dare do with google is host a private ward calendar with no sensitive info attached. If our ward was more dispersed, I would think the electronic tools would be even more crucial. I guess I should...

And most likely against policy . LUWS is getting an update, but it will take awhile. Note that members can update their email addresses on LUWS. From a past post from an employee, the admin's inability to change it was a deliberate decision. I realize not allowing the admin to change email addresse...

We use it

We actually use it a lot and as a new exec secretary, I can't imagine my life without it. We use it for all meeting agendas, sacrament meeting programs, appointment lists, when people last spoke, when people last prayed in sacrament mtg, when people did prayers/spiritual thoughts for meetings, email...

Ditto! This bug bit me today.

I'm a new Exec Sec and the bishop had to correct me on bringing in kids for semi-annual interviews that weren't Priests/Laurels. I told him the report said the interviews were for him and not counselors. I checked the handbook, and of course he was right and MLS was wrong. The church handbook has ab...
