Re: Current Missionaries Serving from the Stake Display

Thanks! I knew someone had probably put together a solution...

I'll submit a request for a proposal and see if our Stake President has sticker shock.

Current Missionaries Serving from the Stake Display

Couldn't seem to find much about this on the forum. My Stake President has requested that we look into creating some kind of digital display in the stake office hallway that would show current missionaries serving from our stake with a little info like which mission they are in. My thought was to cr...

Re: Managed switches

After reviewing the PDF instructions I see that we are supposed to connect all of the building access points directly to the new managed switch. This is a bit of a problem in our older buildings where wifi was added as a retrofit. The current setup has cat5e runs from the current unmanaged switch t...

Re: Managed switches

Thanks for the info. When I click on the pdf link I get an error - failed to load the pdf document. Is this just me or is the link down? I don't see any issues. There may have been a temporary server issue. If you still have problems there could be a problem on your end. Check that you have an oper...

Re: Managed switches

I was able to revert to the old switch and get everything working again but now what? As STS, you should be able to install the new managed switch. Instructions are at the Help Center. Go to this page and scroll down to Meetinghouse Switches. The Meetinghouse Meraki Managed Switch Installation Guid...

Re: Managed switches

Unfortunately the FM group people seem not to be network experts either. Bishops in one of my buildings started complaining that the internet wasn't working... Went to investigate and discovered they have installed one of these new 8 port switches but didn't bother testing to see if any connected cl...

Re: Public Link for Webcasting System?

Thanks for the replies and info. Having to create a church account if you are a non-member would be a hurdle a lot of people wouldn't make the effort to cross in my opinion. I see from the forum that an update is coming that will have public link capability. Should be a great improvement for this us...

I'm so happy to see these features on the list. I would love to help test the system.

Re: Broadcasting Sunday School

Now with YouTube unblocked in the meetinghouses I was told that the firewire allows YouTube, but enforces "Safe Search" which can be a problem for live streaming because the system does not know the content of the live stream and will sometimes block it. Not really sure if this is true, b...

Public Link for Webcasting System?

We've had a couple recent deaths in our stake and the Sake President has requested that we webcast the funerals so that family and friends can view the funeral without gathering at the building during this Covid 19 situation. One limitation of the Church's webcast system is that you seem to need a c...
