Not all have access

But what some people are finding is that the snail mail gets attention. It piles up until you go though it and deal with it. Email tends to simply sink out of sight in a bottomless pit. If you belong to a club that has switched newsletters to on-line or email, do you read them as much as before? In...

You might also dig into the original donation envelopes and make sure the clerks credited the donations to the correct Ward Missionary subcategory. (Maybe the new subcategory was not created in time, and the clerks erroneously used the old one?) If the parents' intent was really to donate to suppor...

Just a note of follow up on this thread. Ultimately it is the members responsibility to make sure his records are correct. I would think that if a couple has a Temple marriage they will be active enough wherever they reside to visit with their Bishop and Ward Clerk, at least during tithing settlemen...

One of the original reasons for the nFS program was to elimiate duplication of effort with regard to temple ordinances. When we reserve "whole families" it should only be done when "we" have satisfied ourselves that we have eliminated the duplicates by having chosen the correct n...

PDA at Church

... Do you bring gadgets to church, and where do you personally draw the line? I have been using my PDA for several years both in administrative meetings and in classes. I have the MLS exported data for each family which allows me to know callings of each family member, who HT/VT each family, birth...

I have my "palm desktop" set to PC overwriters handheld in the sync preference for addresses. Then I delete all the addresses in my MLS Family Group before importing the MLS exported file. The next time I sync it removes all addresses that are not in the fresh download.

Email following Members who Move.

One problem we have is when a record is removed from MLS there is no lingering information as to what their email address was. This also applies to the Ward Web site. When a record is removed from MLS it is also removed from the member list on the web site. Unless we keep an ongoing list of email ad...

Year End donation reports

One of the challenges of the Year End Reports is mailing Tax statements to those who have moved from the ward. When we know they are moving I give them a donation envelope and ask that they return it with their new address information. However sometimes people move and their new ward requests their ...
