Re: "Take a Name"
I've found several problems with apps that crawl FT looking for names. ⋅ They may be based on a misunderstanding of the source of names in Family Tree. If they're not based on a misunderstanding, unfortunately they promote the misunderstanding, which is that the Church has pre-populated FT...

Re: Stake Family History Center Director
Trying to find more information isn't easy. Handbook 2 says "see the Administrative Guide for Family History ". But I can't find it. The closest I come is the Operations guide, but it's written more for the Director than for the Stake leaders. While searching for this information myself, ...

Thank you all! Looks like the static IP was the problem. As soon as she changed it to dynamic, she was able to access the Internet.

Re: "Authorized Software" in FHC?
I second the last two comments. A friend helped family members who had reserved around 220 "green arrow" ordinances. After my friend helped his family resolve errors and duplicates, guess how many ordinances were needed? One sealing. That's it, out of 220 ordinances. It's just coming to li...

Any update on a mobile app?
I'm going to be doing Personal Progress as a mentor with some young women. The web site is awesome, but I would love a mobile app for my tablet (HTC Evo on Android). I searched the project list but don't see anything about Personal Progress. Has anyone heard anything?

Thanks for a fantastic 2nd LDSTech Conference!
Kudos to everyone who helped put on the LDSTech conference this past Thursday and Friday! What an amazing experience. The keynote speakers were interesting and knowledgeable. The classes were varied and relevant. And what fun it was to roll up our sleeves and work with other volunteers on a communit...

Immediate need for French, Spanish, and Portuguese translators
Fellow volunteers, We're getting ready to test the international Bishop's Storehouse web application (BSIR). In order to do that, we have some help files that need to be translated. Ideally, translators would have experience translating for software applications--in other words, they would know (or ...
