What about maintenance work on current version?

...There is not any active development on the new project at this time... I guess I'm wondering why this type of issue, and this issue in particular, isn't being considered as maintenance work for the current version of LUWS (I'm assuming that there is bug fixing going on all the time), instead of ...

"Just don't use that feature..." solution

As the Stake Web Site Admin, I clear the check mark if a submitter has selected e-mail notifications for their submission. It is just too gruesome to have to deal with all the bounces that come back to my personal Inbox from throughout the stake. I usually opt-out of e-mail notifications too, altho...

Please fix Bounced Mail Bug in current version of LUWS

I know there are a lot of suggestions coming into this site for the next version of LUWS, but I really think there are some issues that could be fixed now! The problem with overloading ward/branch/stake administrators with bounced e-mail is one such issue that is a BIG problem, with a potentially si...

Auto-group membership

LUWS doesn't record what "quorums" one belongs to... But LUWS does get information directly from the membership database (as evidenced by the Membership Directory)! I think that LUWS 2.0 should group members automatically in their priesthood quorums/groups and auxiliaries. High Priest and Elders Qu...

"group" membership

...the members themselves select what groups they belong to... I have identified three types of groups that can be selected to receive an E-mail Broadcast message: ⋅ All [Stake or Ward depending on admin level] Users ⋅ Auxiliary ⋅ Leaders [Ward and also Stake if stake ...

... If your sending to a stake, the number of bouncebacks can be huge... My solution is to create a filter for my mail account that sweeps most of the bouncebacks out of sight. I use Gmail, so my filter specifically skips the Inbox, and applies a label if the message is from "daemon OR postmaster" ...

Extraneous blank lines

Another problem with the E-mail Broadcast and also "Send an e-mail" (by clicking the mail icon next to a member in the Membership or Leadership Directory) features is that the system adds a blank line to every line in your message . So when you compose your messages with a blank line in between each...

Message Broadcast problems and tips to avoid them

Occasionally I have used the Message Broadcast feature available to stake and ward website administrators. I thought I would share some problems I have encountered so that others can avoid these problems. From the recipients point of view, the message you send via the Message Broadcast appears as a ...

Protocols

The problem I was pointing out was the transfer protocol to church headquarters... Church HQ believes that it is interacting with a real MLS when really it is a malicious 3rd party I guess then, in the process of open sourcing certain software, the communications layer should be abstracted and the ...

I'm not sure I see the value of having people rate each other's posts with reputation points I tend to agree with Kathryn. My original post was based on the fact that this distracting "crumpled up piece of paper" icon was present next to every post, and obviously, in my case at least, the icon is n...
