Re: home teaching "not reported" category

I noticed this morning that LCR now has three options for each HT and VT report: "Visited", "Not visited" and "Not reported". I am one happy Bishop! Thank you to whoever worked on this change. We'll be discussing the new reporting option in ward council this morning and...

This sister confirmed that updating her email address has fixed the problem for her. Thank you.

online donations broken for just one member

Hello. Our ward has been able to pay tithing online for several months now. It's been working great for everyone so far. This morning, a sister tried to pay her tithing online for the first time. After logging in to lds.org/donations she receives the following error message: "the unit you belon...

That language is no longer present in the online version of Handbook 2, Section 21.1.22. Did you find it elsewhere?

Thanks.

Policy changed for ward Internet presence?

Many forum threads discuss Church policy related to Facebook and other services. They all point to Handbook 2, Section 21.1.22 . My printed copy of the Handbook and quotes on the forum have language that wards may not have a Church-sponsored presence on the Internet other than the ones created using...

Re: home teaching "not reported" category

I lean away from giving the PEC an easy way out. Having a "not reported" category would increase the PEC's responsibility (as I see it), not give them a way out. If HT and VT reports had any "not reported" values when I reviewed them, I'd call my leaders and say "Please con...

home teaching "not reported" category

In my calling as Bishop, I review home and visiting teaching reports each month. When a checkbox is marked to indicate that someone visited a family, all is well. I know that a visit was made, that the visit was reported and that report made it into the computer. However, when a checkbox is blank, I...

Re: indexing with CAPTCHAs

Sounds like forced indexing on members. One of the "variations" is to let users opt in/out for this experience. Those kind of UI details aren't really the crux of this idea, though. The interesting insight in this member's suggestion (and reCAPTCHA and Duolingo and vineyard.lds.org, etc.)...

indexing with CAPTCHAs

A member of my ward recently suggested a way to use LDS Account login screens to increase the amount of FamilySearch indexing that goes on. The idea is basically the same as reCAPTCHA. On each LDS Account login screen, below the username and password inputs, show a small image taken from an indexing...

It seems like software for the temple might be a good place to use static analysis and/or formal verification tools. They're perhaps too expensive for most projects, but might be appropriate when offering our best to the Lord.
