Re: Unofficial guide for YouTube Live - Part 3: Create a New Event From a Past One

Thanks for putting together this guide series @Milerowaved! We've been using OBS with the Church's webcasting service (Azure Cloud), so changing the RTMP streams to point to YouTube instead would be a minor adjustment for us. The thing I'm not crazy about is having to manually schedule YT live event...

Re: Dish Removal and streaming device question

I found an answer to my question about ATSC. It looks like ATSC modulation/demodulation does add enough delay that line-of-sight viewers would find the gym projector video quite out-of-sync with the live presentation. Here's a link to a video that shows a church that is successfully using ATSC to se...

Re: Dish Removal and streaming device question

Last year we purchased an ATSC HD modulator since all the overflow rooms use TVs less than 15 years old and have that built in. I suppose I’ll keep the HD modulator and remove the other three, in time. I was thinking of adding an ATSC modulator to send HD content to all of the existing RF ports in ...

Re: Post Event Viewing on Apple Devices

I'm happy to report that something "behind the scenes" has changed and post-event viewing of events, even those using high-bandwidth encoding (HBE), are now working really well. I've tried this with broadcast type "Stake Conference" and "Other" successfully. It's also i...

Re: Post Event Viewing on Apple Devices

I think I've narrowed this issue down to post-event viewing of events that were streamed using a high-bandwidth encoding (HBE) method rather than using the Teradek. Just beware that if HBE was used for encoding, post-event viewing might have to be limited to viewing on a PC.

Post Event Viewing on Apple Devices

As you may know, certain webcast events can be viewed for 24 hours after the event using the event code. On Apple devices, however, a message appears that says, "Post event viewing in Safari is not currently supported. Please use chrome, Firefox or Edge to view the video." The problem I'm ...

Re: Noise gate in chapel sound system sounds terrible over broadcasts

In our Stake Center, there's a button we press to get the Satellite audio injected into the Chapel sound system. When the button is pressed, the audio DSP (digital signal processor) goes into a mode where the pulpit mic only picks up sounds of a sufficient amplitude (think of someone making a local ...

Re: Sharing our experience with Virtual Sacrament Meeting Broadcasts

What type of cable are you using for connection to the record out jack? We used the assistive hearing devices to loop the chapel audio directly to our camera audio input with much success, but at the older building in our stake this didn’t work too well because the devices there are antiquated and ...

Re: Sharing our experience with Virtual Sacrament Meeting Broadcasts

Open Broadcaster Software is not Windows-specific. I runs on Linux and macOS 10.13+ according to this page: https://obsproject.com/ There are even instructions at the bottom of this page https://obsproject.com/wiki/install-instructions#linux to install (or build) it for FreeBSD. I don't know whethe...

Re: Sharing our experience with Virtual Sacrament Meeting Broadcasts

Hi All, I'm blending several ideas from this thread with an additional spice of my own that I think some might find useful. I just performed a successful stream test from home using Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) to push an RTMP stream to the Church's Azure media servers with an event set for high-...
