Re: Stake Conference - Connection Limit?

Sorry if I wasn't more clear above... I just wonder if there's a limit to how many viewers the Azure virtual machine we point our broadcast stream to can support. I'd like to think we'll hit 2k in a couple weeks; if that's an issue we'll need to plan something else.

Stake Conference - Connection Limit?

Quick searches didn't yield many recent results, so my apologies if I missed something obvious.

In practice, how many connections can a meeting scheduled as 'Stake Conference' in the church system support, assuming the building's pipe to the Internet is stable?

Re: Webcast Encoder URL update - Release Notes

I rolled down to 3.07 and discovered that the suggested build is partially based on Flash, which happily/sadly has gone away. One problem I had during the rollback process is that I couldn't find, for the life of me, the address from where Teradek was supposed to pull the config.xml file. Seems that...

Re: Troubleshooting steps to isolate the problem

OP may want to update this somewhat. Specifically as of FEB 2021, #E1 'Most recent from manufacturer' firmware (the obvious default) != 'known good for Church use' especially if attempting to use the remote XML configurator. #E2 The max steam rate mentioned is incorrect if all settings are created m...

Re: Webcast Encoder URL update - Release Notes

Wow! In October we brought in a brand-new Teradek, updated the firmware (because that's normal for embedded things) and I've been fighting failing autoconfig for months. It's never worked. This morning I'll try rolling ours down to the 3.0.7/8, then will return and report.

Re: Webcast Encoder URL update - Release Notes

Thanks studerje. Looks like I can ping my test machine now as well. I'll cruise over to the building later today and confirm with proper gear. When my pre-buffer first turned on, DNS had obviously not propagated through. [It's always DNS] MACHINE:~ johnchapman$ MACHINE:~ johnchapman$ ping lehiutahga...

Re: Webcast Encoder URL update - Release Notes

Update Friday morning 0745 Mountain: Even after I disabled piHole here at home (holy cow, the unfiltered Internet is an advertising cesspool), no joy. Normal DNS is google at 8.8.8.8. MACHINE:~ johnchapman$ MACHINE:~ johnchapman$ traceroute rtmp://lehiutahgatewaystake2.mhwebcast.churchofjesuschrist....

Re: Webcast Encoder URL update - Release Notes

Hi! It's Wednesday at noon Mountain time. I've tried spinning up a couple sample meetings with these new settings, and my Teradek won't connect. "Address not found." I get similar errors on Teradek's webpage and its front panel display. From another machine on a totally separate network, p...

Re: Teradek - Can't get out of the building

Clues for anyone who may come later: 1. I went back to the building and started over. Held down the reset button on the encoder for 10+ seconds to blow away its entire config. Then I rebuilt it line by line. Initially I told the encoder to use the XML file to pull configuration for each stream. 2. E...

Re: Teradek - Can't get out of the building

Thanks Dan. Any reason to not force something like 8.8.8.8 or 4.2.2.1 for DNS? DHCP was pulling something obscure in I think 8.* that I totally didn't recognize, and didn't take the time to look up in more detail. What's super odd is that Teradek was mad, but iPhone / Larix on building WiFi (I know,...
