... the desire is to search a specific place (location) for all individuals with a specific name and additional criteria related to those individuals. I guess you missed my original premise.:) I know exactly where I wish to search. The drawback is that there is no tool with which to do so with the ...

What you are missing is that the results pages are not for people named "McGuire" living just in Cook Co., Illinois . The results page contains anyone and everyone named McGuire "maybe" having some association to Cook Co., Illinois. For some census records, this works for the res...

Good thoughts, but in this situation the settings are controlled by Church Headquarters and the choice of program is mandated. It's really not an option for anyone at the Stake level. I agree, but there must be a way to have ideas filter upwards other than just through prayers.:) Regards, T. McGuire

PAF on a Stick (USB) Drive

Has anyone made use of PAF as a portable application, i.e. on a USB Drive (aka thumb drive, flash drive, stick drive)?

If so, please relate your experiences.

Regards,

Record Search Tool Inadequate

Ladies and Gentlemen: With the Pilot / Labs website, the search tool is inadequate. There is very little control for limiting the location. As a result, a great deal of time can be wasted trying to find a record that can be readily or more easily found on Ancestry.com or HeritageQuest. Let me explai...

Adobe Reader 8.1 and Firewall

I cannot use Adobe Reader 8.1.x on our system because it tries to verify the license agreement online, and, of course, there is no live connection outside of the mls connection. I am not sure which Firewall program you are using, so I will speak about the program that I use: ZoneAlarm (Free Version...
