While Yasu is a good solid brand, some find Kenwood's menu structure more user-friendly. An up and coming brand is Wouxun. $119 will buy you a commercial-grade dual-band. Several hams in my area have them and love them. Hard to beat the price. Just grabbed one of the Wouxun KG-UV3D radios at Dayton...

Kudos and questions

The site looks good and we could really use something like that in our ward (where we already rely heavily on regular mailing list postings to keep the parents and youth informed), so major kudos! I would second the request for merit badge tracking. It doesn't have to be complex like tracking indivi...

Does someone know off the top of their head what the hours are for GSD phone support? I want to make sure that I time some of my work on a distant ward's system within the hours that I'll be able to call in if necessary.

Thanks!

Yes, thanks for the notes! (the infrastructure notes make me feel warm inside) ;) A note on OpenOffice.org, I thought it was a great move, very cost effective. I work closely with that community (my day job is providing resources for such OSS projects), and there are some great features coming in th...

It is The Church's intent to create an Open Source project for a desktop genealogy record manager that is compatible with the New FamilySearch. We are now looking for a Lead Engineer on this project. If we do are work right, this should easily be portable to the Linux world. Wow.. I am excited that...
