Why debate iPhone OS vs Symbian vs Blackberry, etc?

Just make the apps available on all the platforms.

There is at least one 3rd party LDS Scriptures app available for Symbian in the Ovi Store (runs on my 5800).

QuickConnect

There is a new mobile apps framework that was created by BYU-Idaho professor Lee Barney that is worth mentioning here. It's called QuickConnect, and it allows users to write a mobile application in Javascript, HTML, and CSS instead of - in the case of the iPhone - Objective C. Beyond that advantage,...

Hackintosh?

@Enigma1 It is true that there are a variety of ways to create a so-called "Hackintosh" and run OS X on non-Apple hardware. However, none of them are as straight forward as putting a copy of OS X in the DVD drive and installing. Like their name states, there is a fair amount of 'hacking' involved an...

Sounds like YanCEyWare

Not to dampen the excitement that I share with where mobile computing is going - but I've been enjoying these features on YanCEyWare (Windows Mobile) for 5+ years. If someone wanted to port YanCEyWare Reader (or just make their .ybk books readable) for the iPhone/Android, that would really make my d...

Appible

Just started an iPhone app studio. We've got a couple apps coming out in the next few weeks - though not LDS related.

Very interested in LDS projects. We've got some ideas, but would love to hear from others and contribute however we can.

A creative - at times perhaps misguided - but altogether interesting commentary on the "mormonbook" myth over at Mashable. Intriguing to see the Church organization through a non-member-journalist's eyes. He put some thought into it and definitely did his homework. So, this must be a branch of that ...

The Facebook-Mormon Merger is off!

Brady Brim-DeForest (the lead link in the first post) has reportedly received the following update: UPDATE (3:09 pm): The Church reached out to me this afternoon. This is the official word from their Public Affairs Spokesperson, Lyman Kirkland: [INDENT] Brady, You can quote this statement: “This rum...

I agree, it doesn't make any sense to me either - but it is a fun topic for a Wednesday afternoon. :)

Mormon Church to buy Facebook?

That headline just grabbed my eye: Mormon Church Makes Bid To Acquire Facebook http://valleywag.com/5039507/mormons-said-to-make-bid-for-facebook http://secretenemyhideout.com/post/46652783/i-heard-from-an-employee-close-to-the-deal-that I have absolutely no idea if there is any truth to this - but ...
